# Claude Science used to build first full-sky ultraviolet map

Johns Hopkins astrophysicist Brice Ménard used Anthropic's Claude Science to map the entire sky in ultraviolet light for the first time. AI agents downloaded data from several space missions, calibrated it, and filled gaps using inpainting. Predictions deviated about ten percent from actual measurements on average.

**Why it matters:** This is a concrete case of agents running an end-to-end data pipeline, from acquisition to calibration to gap-filling, rather than just assisting a human. The roughly ten percent error shows where such outputs need scrutiny, but the researcher's claim that the project wouldn't otherwise have happened points to AI widening what small science teams can attempt. It fits the recent run of AI-driven math and research results.
