# FCC proposes banning Chinese-made optical transceivers in AI networks

The FCC is drafting a proposal to expand Secure Networks Act coverage to new-model optical transceivers manufactured in China. These components are a key part of AI data center interconnects, and China currently holds 56% of the global transceiver market.
