# Google Cloud to offer Nvidia Vera Rubin instances next month

*2026-10-21 · Source: [NVIDIA](https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/google-cloud-vera-rubin-infrastructure/)*

Google Cloud and Nvidia announced general availability of A5X instances next month, with expansion to Europe planned. They combine Vera Rubin NVL72 racks, ConnectX-9 SuperNICs, Google's Virgo network and fourth-generation liquid cooling, aimed at training, inference and large-scale reinforcement learning.

**Why it matters:** Hyperscaler availability is what turns a new GPU generation into capacity customers can rent, which matters while labs such as Anthropic reportedly struggle to secure compute. It also sits alongside Google's own push to move PyTorch workloads off Nvidia, so Google is hedging on both fronts.

**Topics:** chips, infrastructure
