# Replit ends its relationship with Anthropic, CEO says

Replit CEO Amjad Masad said the company is no longer working with Anthropic, citing several reasons including cost. Replit announced an OpenAI partnership in August, but there had been no sign it had left Anthropic.

**Why it matters:** Coding-agent platforms are a major source of model-provider revenue, so losing a prominent one matters, especially with Anthropic's growth slowing ahead of its IPO. The cost rationale also shows app builders will switch providers on price, weakening model-lab lock-in.
