# Twitch lets streamers opt out of training Amazon's AI

Twitch added an opt-out option letting streamers stop their streams, VODs, clips, chats, and channel content from being used to train Amazon's generative AI models. Other AI-supported features like captions still work regardless of the opt-out choice. Chat participants are bound by the streamer's own opt-out setting, not their own.

**Why it matters:** This follows a broader pattern of platforms adding after-the-fact consent controls for AI training as creator pushback grows. The chat carve-out is notable: a viewer's words can be used for training based on someone else's opt-out choice, a wrinkle other platforms will eventually have to address too.
