Intel confirms 14A chip node on track for 2028, sales jump 25%
Intel said its next-generation 14A manufacturing process remains on schedule for high-volume production in 2028. The company also reported quarterly sales up 25% year-over-year, beating its own guidance.
Why it matters: Intel's foundry roadmap is central to US efforts to rebuild domestic leading-edge chip manufacturing and reduce reliance on TSMC, which currently produces most advanced AI chips. A confirmed 14A timeline gives Nvidia, AMD, and other AI chip designers a credible alternative fab option as global AI chip demand strains existing capacity.
