Arm unveils Neoverse CSS N4 chip platform with 128 cores per die

Arm introduced its next-generation Neoverse CSS N4 'Ranger' semi-custom platform, supporting up to 128 cores per die and 256MB of L3 cache on TSMC's N3P process. It's a significant increase over the previous Neoverse CSS N2 platform.

Why it matters: Neoverse chips underpin much of the custom silicon that cloud providers like AWS, Google, and Microsoft use for general compute alongside their AI accelerators, so a jump in core density and cache directly affects the CPU side of AI data center performance. This continues Arm's push to win server market share from x86 as hyperscalers build increasingly customized infrastructure for AI workloads.
