Claude Code Projects now run parallel cloud coding agents that persist
Anthropic relaunched Projects in Claude Code so a single coordinating conversation can spin off multiple work threads, each a full Claude Code cloud session running on its own branch that keeps going after you close your laptop. Threads share common memory, and overlapping work is resolved as a merge conflict like a normal pull request. The beta is available to select Pro and Max subscribers.
Why it matters: This pushes Claude Code further toward a persistent, multi-agent coding system that manages its own task-splitting, echoing OpenAI's Codex agent-swarm approach — though a developer report noted swarms often waste tokens, making Anthropic's coordinator-plus-merge-conflict design a real test of whether structured parallelism avoids that waste.
