Google Cloud adds OpenAI models alongside Gemini and Claude

Google Cloud is offering OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna in private preview for enterprise customers. It is the first major cloud to host Gemini, Claude and OpenAI models on one platform. Rollout reaches more customers in coming weeks.

Why it matters: Model exclusivity is eroding as clouds compete as neutral marketplaces, weakening Microsoft's special position with OpenAI. It also makes model choice a routing and cost decision for enterprises, pressuring pricing across labs.
