Google releases Gemini 4 Argon worldwide via API, app and Antigravity

Google is making Gemini 4 Argon, its most capable frontier model, available worldwide through its API, the Gemini app and Google Antigravity. Pricing is aggressive, though independent benchmarks place it behind Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 and Meta's Muse Wonder Full. Google says internally it has cut some coding tasks from months to weeks.

Why it matters: Google is competing on price and distribution rather than top benchmark rank, which pressures margins for the labs ahead of it. With Meta's Muse Wonder Full also leading coding benchmarks, the frontier is now a three-way race where cost per task may matter more than leaderboard position.
