Liquid AI released d1-ultra, a text and image model that returns calibrated probabilities in a single forward pass. It scores 65 on the Artificial Analysis Decision Index and costs $0.042 per million input tokens.

Why it matters: Together with the vLLM Semantic Router and Cloudflare decision models released recently, it points to a new class of small, cheap models built for routing and classification rather than generation. Low per-token cost makes them practical as gating layers in agent pipelines.
