Meta to issue new non-voting share class to fund AI

In its Q3 earnings, Meta said it will create a new class of non-voting stock to fund AI initiatives, acquisitions and employee compensation, with trading starting in 2027. The CFO said it expands Meta's funding tools.

Why it matters: The company is preparing for AI capital needs beyond cash flow while preserving founder control. It follows a broader pattern of AI financing stress, from neocloud debt concerns to Anthropic's compute-funding push.
