Neocloud shakeout expected, with Nvidia heavily exposed

After stock crashes and Firmus's scrapped IPO, executives expect only seven to ten of hundreds of AI cloud providers to survive. CoreWeave lost a quarter of its market value, and Microsoft pulled out of a deal with Nscale for 23,000 Nvidia chips.

Why it matters: Customers outside the hyperscalers make up 45 percent of Nvidia's data center revenue, so consolidation among neoclouds directly threatens a large demand segment. Financing-dependent GPU resellers failing would also free up capacity and could pressure GPU pricing, tying into the broader question of whether AI infrastructure spending is outrunning real demand.
