OpenAI Decisions API enters public beta, billing only for input

OpenAI's Decisions API is in public beta on GPT-6 Luna. It returns typed probabilities, choices and scores about 10x faster than the Responses API, at $0.10 per 1M input tokens with no output charges.

Why it matters: Classification, routing and scoring are a large share of production LLM calls, and this prices them like an embedding service rather than text generation. It follows the broader move toward models that output decisions rather than prose, such as Liquid AI's d1 models. Competitors will face pressure to offer structured-output endpoints at similar prices.
