Second German court holds Google liable for AI Overviews

The Aachen Regional Court applied the reasoning of an earlier Munich ruling to a case where Google's AI falsely attributed criminal offenses to a doctor. Google appealed the Munich case but then quietly settled.

Why it matters: Two courts now treat AI answers as Google's own content rather than neutral third-party results. That undercuts the usual platform-liability defense and could push search providers toward more conservative AI answers in Europe.
