Snap launches Specs Intelligence AI assistant with AR glasses

Snap introduced Specs Intelligence, an AI assistant that connects a user's digital accounts to help with tasks like work and travel planning. It launches alongside Specs, Snap's first consumer augmented-reality glasses, and is also rolling out separately on iOS and Mac.

Why it matters: Snap is following Meta's Muse and Google's Gemini Spark into proactive, cross-app AI assistants, suggesting "anticipatory" agents are becoming the default UX pattern rather than plain chatbots. Pairing the assistant with new AR hardware also puts Snap in more direct competition with Meta's smart-glasses line for the AI-glasses form factor.
