TabPFN-3.5 tabular AI model beats a winning Kaggle solution

Prior Labs released TabPFN-3.5, a tabular foundation model trained only on synthetic data, which outperforms the Otto Group's winning Kaggle competition solution using default settings. It targets classification and regression tasks on structured, spreadsheet-style data.

Why it matters: Tabular data is still where most real-world business analytics happens, and it's been relatively untouched by the deep learning wave that transformed text and images. A foundation model beating a hand-tuned, competition-winning solution out of the box suggests that gap may be closing.
