CyberCartel uses Claude and Grok agents to automate attacks on Latin American banks
A group calling itself CyberCartel is using AI agents, including Claude and Grok, to automate attacks on Latin American institutions such as banks and payment apps.
Why it matters: Commercial frontier models being used operationally by criminal groups against financial targets puts pressure on providers' misuse detection and on banks already restricting AI agents on their platforms. It shows attackers will route around any single vendor's safeguards by mixing models.
