Deep Principle releases 753B open-weight science model Hydrogen-1.0
Deep Principle released Hydrogen-1.0, an open-weight model for chemistry, materials science and life sciences, under the MIT License. It was built by post-training Z.ai's GLM-5.3 on domain data, lab records and agent discovery trajectories. The company reports a FrontierScience-Research win over GPT-6-Astra.
Why it matters: It shows open base models like GLM 5.3 can be turned into domain specialists that challenge closed frontier models on science benchmarks. A permissive license lets labs run it privately. The same open GLM lineage was recently shown building exploit chains, so open-weight capability gains cut both ways.
