Nvidia weighs roughly $2,000 per-GPU annual software fee
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is reportedly considering annual software fees of about $2,000 per GPU for software that runs agents on AI factories. Five million licenses would yield about $10 billion a year. Pricing and timing are unconfirmed.
Why it matters: This would turn Nvidia's hardware lead into recurring software revenue and add a per-GPU cost on top of chip prices. It could raise lock-in concerns and strengthen the case for alternatives like open agent harnesses and non-Nvidia stacks.
